Role Description

The role of Data Operations Coordinator will be a vital position on the STR Data Operations Team based in Singapore, reporting to the Manager, Data Operations. This role is responsible for data loading and data checking for our daily, weekly, and monthly output distribution checks, with also a focus on our Forward STAR product. In addition, this role will support with client related administrative tasks relating to data feeds and automating data from the clients to STR. This team member will work closely with STR’s data contacts and internal team members worldwide to ensure the accuracy of the data, with a focus on clients in China.

This role requires an individual that is self-motivated and detail-orientated with strong analytical skills. You thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and can trouble-shoot and quickly adapt to any type of situation. Strong inter-personal skills and commercial acumen are also a must, as this role will require collaboration with various stakeholders where data integrity, data quality, and client confidentiality are a top priority.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Load daily, weekly and monthly data from corporate files, automated data feeds and manual submissions:
  • Perform error checks – research and accept/reject data.
  • Contact data provider with rejections or questionable data.
  • Sending data submission reminders.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with properties, clients, and other industry professionals regarding STR/CoStar’s policies and guidelines.
  • Notify research dept. of any census related issues (room supply, open dates, etc.).
  • Run participation checks.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly processing procedures.
  • Process data as needed.
  • Work with the Manager to create successful data loading templates.
  • Help teams run pre-processing checks on weekly and monthly data.
  • Generate, check, and send selected output (corporate reports, data files, property reports, etc.).
  • Maintain personal inbox and work with team to maintain shared inboxes – Answer emails & provide support to clients & other staff regarding data.
  • Work on various projects as needed and able.
  • Manage workflow requests and ensure that clients receive instructions to start delivering their data to STR.
  • Complete assigned To-do’s or projects in a timely manner
  • Stay knowledgeable of industry trends and current industry news that may affect the assigned region or company.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
  • Adhere to STR’s and CoStar’s standards and guidelines for data confidentiality.
  • Work with Account Management and Business Development teams to maximize benefits from relationships with Technology vendors.
  • Help clients automate their data submission to STR from various technology vendors.
  • Identify new opportunities for automated data transfer to STR with new Technology Vendors.
  • Support growth in participation and identify new automated solutions for all types of data points collected by STR, including but not limited to, historical data, forward looking data, among others.
  • Assist in project work as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in hospitality, accounting, finance, or another related field
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • We’re looking for a Chinese speaker, with strong English knowledge.
  • Ability to manipulate big data sets/work with disparate data sets.
  • Experience with Excel and Power Point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and workloads in a high growth company.
  • Intense curiosity and desire to learn.
  • Capable of dealing with urgent internal and/or external requests while maintaining the turnaround times for other projects. Able to quickly change focus area from region to region.
  • Able to prioritise and deliver accurate results. Completing all documentation accurately and thoroughly
  • Attention to Detail: An eye for detail in terms of data checking is essential. The candidate must be confident working with data and taking responsibility for the accuracy and quality of the data they are dealing with.
  • Be a team player, as a member of an international team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of STR data, processes, products, and clients.
  • Working knowledge of hotel industry/travel/tourism.
  • Data Skills: Creative, innovative, and analytical. Strong confidence in using and manipulating quantitative, performance data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish strong working relationships with executive management, internal clients, team members and other departments.
  • Positive can-do attitude, with willingness to learn new ways to accomplish objectives.
  • Highly organized in work approach, with an ability to prioritize and complete tasks.
