CADSs Data Enablement team is hiring a leader for a new Data Literacy program designed to help empower groups across the enterprise as they innovate and make data-driven decisions. As Cox Automotive continues its evolution towards data-driven decision making and creating customer experiences powered by data, this role will create and implement programs to help teams increase their ability to read, consume, analyze, debate, and decide using data. This role is responsible for forming the components of the program, building strong relationships, obtaining buy-in at multiple levels of the organization, and creating assessments to determine areas of need. The role will partner with vendors on delivering immersive courses that may focus on analytic methods, connecting data to desired outcomes, and collaboratively applying data to solve business needs. The role will also measure progress and evaluate success of the program through KPIs, active iteration based on customer needs, and driving execution towards success measures. Building and executing change management activities is vital to the success of this role. The position demands frequent interactions with all levels of the organization, both with business users, analysts and data scientists, product managers, and engineering teams. This role is a customer-centric product role, accountable for ensuring the Data Literacy program evolves to deliver strong adoption and valuable outcomes to the organization.

  • Create and execute roadmap to launch literacy program to fulfill needs across the organization
  • Identify key stakeholders and customers across the company, generate buy-in and support for the program, and deliver valuable products for their needs
  • Build partnerships with customers to determine a deep understanding of their data literacy needs
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business users, analysts, data scientists, product, and technology teams across Cox Automotive
  • Serve as the "voice of the customer" by adapting and iterating the program to meet customer expectations
  • Lead product roadmap and delivery efforts for creating a best-in-class literacy program that has relevant, tailored content to different audiences
  • Create and administer a scalable process to engage with teams, determine literacy needs, develop courses with vendors, deliver to teams, and assess success
  • Leverage current training resources and obtain and curate new course content from industry vendors for needs
  • Develop a strong feedback loop to assess growth in skills after leading facilitated sessions with teams
  • Develop goals and KPIs to objectively evaluate success of program, covering areas of course adoption, usefulness, repeat customers, NPS scores, and measurements of value delivered
  • Become a leading practitioner in the data literacy space partnering with external councils, and bring those tenets to CAI operating practices
  • Focus on future-state vision of program while managing teams through current execution and deliverables.
  • Settle disputes between parties effectively and for the best of Cox Automotive; be autonomous and make decisions without oversight when appropriate.


  • Compensation includes a base salary of $69,300 - 86,600. Salary may vary outside of the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidates experience.
  • Position is eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.


  • 10+ years of increasing and relevant experience in a data-driven environment, with automotive experience as a plus.
  • Academic background in business, analytics, training, product management, computer science, mathematics, IT, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical skills and business acumen, evidenced by a proven track record in developing impactful, practical product/data strategies that have been implemented successfully.
  • Proven execution and project management skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent change management and communication abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills in a global matrix environment, evidenced by obtaining results through cross-functional, cross-business unit efforts across different geographies and cultures.
  • Previous experience leading teams of senior professionals in data-related fields.
  • Track record of success establishing partnerships and buy-in for ideas across functions and business units.
  • Creative thinker with an open mind to learn and explore new areas and to develop and recommend opportunities and solutions.
  • Strong ability to give clear and consistent instructions to team members, and to lead, motivate, and supervise project and/or working teams.
  • Experience operating in AWS, Snowflake, and Collibra is desirable.
  • Experience with analytics and visualization practices is desirable.
  • Exposure to or familiar with an Agile based methodology is desirable.
  • 10%+ time travel requirement.
