The New Growth & Development organization is focused on identifying and analyzing areas of future growth and plans to achieve sustained and balance growth across the enterprise. The organization works to answer "whats next" for Cox and our customers. We develop growth hypothesis and test those hypothesis through 1) skunkworks 2) investing in new businesses 3) traditional R&D 4) identifying strategic partnerships and 5) exploring emerging businesses. Growth opportunities are currently being incubated across a variety of adjacent business and technology sectors including Healthcare, Commercial IOT, Energy, Edge Computing, etc.
The New Growth & Development group is now hiring a Sr Manager Product & Marketing for Cox Edge Services. Cox Edge Services is a new edge compute and data management service within Cox Communications. The Cox Edge Services team mission is to help businesses accelerate business and digital transformation by leveraging the benefits of edge computing. Cox Edge Services is a collection of low latency cloud infrastructure resources using our extensive infrastructure of edge facilities. Our edge data centers are located at the last mile of the network providing superior network speed to support developer and customer workloads across the ecosystem.
About the Job
Cox Edge Services is looking for a driven strategic thinker who can own the development and execution of a compelling edge computing marketing strategy. As Sr Marketing Manager, youll be responsible for Cox Edge Services go-to-market strategy, messaging, and competitive positioning. You will collaborate across departments, internal resources, and external agencies to craft effective marketing tactics that drive customer engagement and conversion. The Marketing Director reports to the Head of Growth Management Office for Cox Edge Services.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Oversee development of effective go-to-market strategies, messaging, and competitive positioning for Cox Edge Services.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure marketing strategy, packaging, and collateral are aligned.
  • Partner with the sales team to establish and execute against a focused ABM strategy.
  • Lead creative marketing team, including internal and external agencies
  • Manage the creation of marketing collateral such as blog posts, whitepapers, videos, tutorials, and more.
  • Provide marketing fundamentals including messaging, naming, pricing, and packaging, and ensure alignment across departments.
  • Spearhead customer and market research in order to identify customer needs, new opportunities, and product gaps.
  • Own external assessments of industry and technology trends as well as market and competitive activities impacting the business and potential new opportunities.
  • Manage the creation of marketing collateral such as blog posts, whitepapers, videos, tutorials, etc. and ensure alignment with Product Marketing Manager and DevRel Manager.
  • Leverage a holistic understanding of Cox Edge Services key stakeholders and its impact on marketing strategy
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing Manager and DevRel Manager on marketing strategy and execution.
  • Responsible for Marketing Analytics by analyzing inputs from multiple sources to formulate the product marketing and channel segmentation strategies.
  • Develop, execute and steward the channel marketing experimentation plan with clear hypotheses and objectives.
  • Measure and evaluate how your initiatives impact the customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Portfolio Management by using data, insights, and high judgement to manage the channel marketing calendar. You ask hard questions to inform strategic trade-offs and drive improvements.

Qualifications:

Minimum

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing or similar roles in consulting, advertising, technology, program management etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in high-level business discussions and low-level technical discussions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
  • Demonstrate strong technical and market knowledge.
  • Works with minimal supervision.
  • Positive, upbeat, self-starting, and can-do attitude.
  • Experience with Public Cloud, Software as a service, Data Center or Network technology are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority, leading cross-functional teams across geographies and business units
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Background related product development and delivery
Preferred
  • MBA or MS in relevant field.
  • Extensive experience in marketing to technical audiences.
  • Experience marketing enterprise technology products.
  • Start-up experience and mindset strongly preferred.
