What Youll Do 

Cox2M is an Internet of Things (IoT) venture within Cox Communications. Put simply, youll help develop and deploy embedded devices for use on the IoT network. Put even simpler, youre working on stuff that talks to other stuff - and your innovation will have sweeping effects on transportation, healthcare and more. Heres a look at how youll spend a typical day (though days at Cox are anything but typical):
Working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives and project functional trends.

  • Working with external design and manufacturing partners independently to take a technical project from the design phase to the production phase.
  • Developing detailed project schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
  • Tracking key project milestones and potential project risks.
  • Reporting on project progress.
  • Driving execution of projects with an emphasis on timeline.
  • Implementing project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, adhere to high-quality standards and meet customer expectations.
  • Identifying tasks required to support change processing.
  • Sustaining strong ongoing relationships with business sponsors and senior management during projects.
  • Assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives.
  • Measuring project performance.
  • Reporting on progress and escalating issues to management.
  • Delegating project tasks based on team members individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
  • Using and continually developing leadership skills.

Qualifications:

Who You Are

Minimum:

  • Excellent analytical and academic credentials with ability to push for and complete independent analysis.
  • 3+ years of technical project management experience.
  • The ability to independently manage and drive electronics hardware projects from start to mass production by managing the timely execution of development and manufacturing partners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Natural curiosity and tendency to question the status quo.


Preferred:

  • A BS/BA degree in related discipline.
  • Experience with technical project management in electronics hardware development.
  • Experience managing electronics hardware and firmware projects for industrial IoT embedded devices.
  • Experience independently driving development and manufacturing partners to execute high-volume electronics production projects.
  • Experience with electronics hardware certifications.
  • Experience with hardware prototyping and mechanical tooling.
  • Experience building or improving change management and issue resolution processes.
  • Experience in product development or high-tech environment.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Prior start-up experience.
