Website/ Outreach Manager

The Brookings Institution, a public policy think tank in Washington, D.C., seeks a highly proactive, detail-oriented person to manage the content of all the Foreign Policy Studies (FPS) program web pages, as well as be responsible for the information architecture of all FPS- related web content. The Website/Outreach Manager will also maintain the FPS monthly calendar of events; maximize FPS outreach and disseminate the written work resulting from FPS research projects; coordinate the peer review process for manuscripts; assist the FPS staff with media and outreach efforts; act as liaison to the Brookings offices of Communications and press; coordinate press efforts for most FPS events and publications with the Communications department with particular emphasis on internet and development officer to keep them informed of program events and publication of FPS scholars’ written work.

Additional Qualifications
The applicants should have B.A. or M.A. in international relations or relevant field preferred; 3-4 years related work experience required; some website design and content management experience necessary; editing or proofreading experience required; knowledge of the media community and outreach strategizing; research experience desirable.

Also mandatory are excellent organizational, communication and writing skills; ability to prioritize; ability to work under pressure with discretion and mature judgment; self-starter; must work well with others; interest in international affairs and foreign policy; strong knowledge of HTML and information architecture; familiarity with content management systems desirable; capacity to learn new applications
