Manager, Audience Development, is the highly successful web page of Government Executive, one of the cornerstone media brands of Atlantic Media Company. We have grown this exciting web operation to an average of over 400,000 unique visitors and about 3 million pages views monthly. In addition, we produce 11 web based email newsletters, which along with our web site, generate several million dollars in advertising revenue.

We are now searching for an Audience Development Manager who will help us craft and implement a strategy for growing our online audience. This person will be part of our management team and will play an important role in the overall growth strategy of our operation. In addition and on a secondary basis, this manager to oversee the circulation process of our print magazine.

Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate the role they’ve played in developing an audience for a b2b web site. Ideally, candidates would have some experience with print circulation of a b2b magazine.

In addition, our expectations of this manager are that they bring a willingness to learn, to try their best everyday, and to keep pace with the many changes in the web publishing world. Government Executive is driven by a strong team work ethic. To fit in, this person should not take themselves too seriously and be willing to pitch in wherever they’re needed.

Essential Duties:

•Work closely with the publisher, online editors and other managers to grow our online traffic within the government market
•Direct and monitor the implementation of circulation strategy
•Advise direct marketing efforts of experienced and successful events group


•First hand experience with many of the latest tactics on building an online audience, such as search engine optimization and building strategic partnerships
•Eagerness to continue to learn the newest ways to build audiences through a knowledge of the new world of web publishing


•Experience in audience development
•Experience in print circulation is preferable
•Direct marketing experience
•Leadership ability required
•Overall knowledge of magazine circulation and industry trends
•Strong analytical skills
•Proven track record of marketing success
•College degree
