The Brookings Institution seeks to fill an Online Communications Specialist position with the Office of Communications. The Online Communications Specialist will help the web site editor and the web strategist manage the Brookings Institution's web site and implement appropriate online strategies. Publish/edit content, manage a photo and graphics library, assist with marketing programs, and track and analyze web site statistics. Help facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration across programs, centers and projects.

Strong knowledge of web site management, trends, practices and strategies. Basic HTML knowledge required. Familiarity with content management systems and information architecture desired. Should be proficient in MS Office applications, and adept at learning new applications. Experience with e-mail newsletter and search applications, as well as image and graphic applications, such as Photoshop a plus. Excellent organizational, communication, proofreading, and writing skills. Ability to prioritize; ability to work well under pressure with discretion and mature judgment; self-starter. Must be able to learn other new technology applications for communications and design and to interpret web usage statistics.

B.A. and two to four years experience in web site content management/development, strategy, design, or online marketing; experience in a public policy setting preferred but not required.
