U.S.News & World Report is looking for a Washington, D.C.-based reporter to cover personal health and medicine for the magazine and The health section is a signature part of the company’s heritage of consumer-oriented journalism.

The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years' experience covering health and medicine for a major publication and for the web. The writer will be expected to generate and execute story ideas, as well as collaborate with other health writers and editors to come up with themes and ideas for the magazine's regular health-related guides. The writer will also be expected to contribute to the magazine's website. Candidates should have a flair for service journalism, be adept at translating scientific and medical research for the lay reader, possess the ability to spot health trends ahead of the curve, and be able to write in an informative and engaging fashion.
