We are currently seeking a smart, competitive and fast Senior Graphic Designer Multifamily Executive & Developer Magazines to join our dynamic Builder Editorial Group team. This is an exclusive opportunity, for you to join one of America's leading B2B media companies.Our ideal Senior Graphic Designer Multifamily Executive & Developer Magazines will be responsible to prepare editorial pages for the Multifamily Group, including creating conceptual art or spot illustrations; assigning photography and custom illustrations; and creating page layouts and error-free files for reproduction. Under the tutelage of the art director, the Senior Graphic Designer will primarily help to establish and oversee an artistic voice and direction for the bimonthly DEVELOPER magazine, while simultaneously providing monthly support and backup to MULTIFAMILY EXECUTIVE magazine and its numerous supplements. This position will work directly on more than 20 issues annually across the two magazines. In particular, Page creation • Create award-winning, dynamic pages and images to reflect the editorial direction of the magazines. • Create original art and/or illustrations for magazine. • Suggest new approaches for design concepts. • Develop new treatments for typography, infographics, and photos, under the direction of the art director. • Direct the creative content of photo shoots, under the direction of the art director. • Help assign and delegate the design of departments and features, as directed by the art director. • Assist in assigning art, illustrations, photo shoots, and laying out pages for multiple magazine supplements and directories throughout the year. Issue planning • Maintain art and production schedules and calendars to ensure a steady and even workflow throughout the year. • Attend all art and planning meetings. • Maintain consistent look throughout the magazines. • Supervise and guide any freelance staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects. In addition, the Senior Designer Multifamily Executive & Developer Magazines position requires 2 to 3 years experience at a graphic design studio, ad agency, magazine/publishing company, etc. Demonstrated ability in InDesign, Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint. • Knowledge of Flash and Dreamweaver preferred, but not required. • Understand basic principles of 4-color reproduction, page production, and color correction. • Artistic ability to create original images.
