Develops and manages educational programming for the Society's annual meeting and other programs.

Develops list of prospective topics and speakers based on the needs and interests of the profession, annual award recipients, surveys and program evaluations, and allied professional organizations’ educational programming.
Solicits proposals for educational sessions from the profession, allied professionals, and other organizations.
Works with the President, the Steering Committee, and appropriate staff in developing the annual meeting education session content.
Solicits speakers and coordinates travel, accommodations, AV/handouts, and other logistical needs in preparation for the annual meeting.
Provides education session descriptions for annual meeting marketing purposes.
Collects and distributes annual meeting education session abstracts.
Manages the annual meeting education session evaluation process, analyzes the results, and incorporates changes as needed.
In coordination with professional practice staff, develops programs and speakers for education sessions at annual meetings and conferences of other organizations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Background/Experience
Education: BA degree, with a focus on marketing and communications a plus.
Skills: Proficiency in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Excellent organizational skills, good judgment, and attention to detail. Ability to balance heavy workload with short- and long-term project deadlines, address changing priorities, and work well under pressure. Microsoft Office computer applications; experience with Adobe, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and basic html programming helpful. Must become familiar with ASLA programs and priorities and landscape architecture issues, as well as issue experts within the profession.
Experience: Minimum three years’ experience in association/nonprofit meeting planning and program management.
