NAEYC is a non-profit early childhood educational association dedicated to improving the well-being of all young children, with particular focus on the quality of educational and developmental services for children from birth through age 8. The Books Department produces and acquires books and brochures used for professional development by teachers, caregivers, and college students.NAEYC is seeking an entry-level Editorial Assistant to provide administrative and editorial support to the Editor and a small publications team in the Books Department. Duties include assisting the Editor; maintaining records; corresponding with publishers; answering queries from the public; helping with the print and online catalogs; coordinating manuscript reviews; handling permissions; some writing (correspondence, blurbs); proofreading and light copyediting; and other project work as assigned. A college degree; solid editing/writing skills; and administrative skills (Word, Excel, web research, data input) are required. Demonstrated interest in early childhood education is a plus.Salary is $28-30K, depending on experience, with good benefits.
