In-House Position: Manages the design and usability of the Society’s websites, and coordinates website development with ASLA’s web manager, and external consultants.Conceptualizes, designs and develops web sites, site-lets and promotional web pages for asla.org Work closely with team members in maintaining interactive standards for the communications department, including design, coding and usability, and enforce accountability when standards are not met.Coordinates posting of web content with web manager, ASLA staff, and other sources.Create and contribute to documentation (content/site maps, wireframes, functional design specifications)Develop recommendations for improving site usability, and developing online brand. Provides internal design support to ASLA staff Serves as liaison with external web consultant.Performs other duties as assigned.________________________________________Preferred Background/ExperienceEducation: BS degree in design; or equivalent background and experience Skills: Strong conceptual, design, and web communications skills. Interactive agency experience a plus. High-level proficiency in Photoshop, Image Ready, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks, and the ability to hand-code HTML. Experience with Ektron, or other major content management systems desired. Excellent organizational skills, good judgment, and attention to detail. Ability to balance heavy workload with short- and long-term project deadlines, adapts to changing priorities, and works well under pressure.
