Leading multi-media publisher seeks an experienced Research Manager to launch internal research function responsible for developing consumer insights in support of existing products and markets as well as new products/markets. A strong background in quantitative research and the use of online panels will be essential to success in this position. Top candidates will have a minimum of 5-7 years experience conducting custom market research projects. Important to have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate research results/conclusions. Must think strategically while critically evaluating and clearly synthesizing information, including the ability to seek out third party research and information in support of market and product analysis. Candidates must be extremely organized and complete multiple projects in an efficient and timely manner for this hands-on position. Must show excellent attention to follow through and work quality. Must work independently but also have top notch interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively interact with diverse teams. Need to enjoy a fast paced environment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Developing internal process and procedures for all research initiatives, including software required to successfully implement research as well as archive and best practice sharing strategies

Communicating with clients to understand and document the business objectives

Selecting the most appropriate research methodology and techniques

Designing qualitative and quantitative research plans for products in all stages of product life cycles

Designing research questionnaires

Providing selection and segmentation requirements

Implementing panel or other instrument mechanics

Interpreting data, writing reports, and making actionable recommendations

A minimum of 5 to 7 years conducting custom quantitative market research projects; Bachelors Degree

Practical experience with a wide array of new product, brand, advertising and customer satisfaction research methodologies

Exceptional written and oral communication abilities

Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience with online panel research and tools
