We foster a culture of continuous learning and teamwork and support and encourage creativity and entrepreneurial leadership.ResponsibilitiesThe Social Media Marketing Manager will play a lead role in the development and implementation of Barnes & Noble College Booksellers social & digital media presence. He or she will implement, monitor, analyze, and report on our campaigns and be responsible for their overall success. He/she will also be responsible for online community management (listening, learning, finding, following). Reporting to the Director of Consumer and Interactive Marketing, this person will: Recommend creative approach/strategy for social media executions in support of marketing objectives to drive sales, engage customers, and create positive brand experiences Use knowledge of consumer conversation/behavior, social media trends, competitive activities, and industry news to guide and inform ongoing strategy in the social media digital space. Identify emerging social networks, platforms, and apps Fully integrate offline activities into social media campaigns. Collaborate with merchandising, field management, store managers, and other marketing groups Produce editorial content, campaign strategies and calendars for the company's social media sites, blogs, text messaging, and social media press releases. Monitor and engage in brand related online conversations; Update and manage social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other relevant networking sites. Create weekly and monthly progress reports and campaign summary reports; Analyze social media campaigns and translate anecdotal data into recommendations. Train and support store managers on implementation of local social media efforts. Educate peers and management on usage, best practices, rules of engagement, and measurement of the social space Recommend and manage third-party consultants in the development and implementation of new programsQualifications Bachelors Degree; 7+ years of experience Demonstrated professional experience in leading social media strategy, content and initiatives for a major customer-focused brand.
