WIRED seeks a Senior Events Producer to plan, promote, and execute large multi-sponsored signature events (Conference, VIP/Celeb, Retail, Tradeshow), customized advertiser events, and internal events. Must have at least 8 years experience in the field, be able to manage internal and external teams, have impeccable client facing skills, and a portfolio of experience that demonstrates luxury, business, retail and technology-focused or themed events. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Member of a team of three producers, reporting to Integrated Creative Services Director
  • Has access to 2 part-time resources on the event team.
  • Owns and executes the planning and production of one or more WIRED signature events including developing the sponsorship opportunities with the Integrated Creative Services Director, the Executive Brand Director, the National Ad Sales Director, and the AP of Marketing
  • Oversees the planning, promotion, and execution of several WIRED advertiser and internal events throughout the year
  • Brainstorms event component of new signature programs with Ideation team and provides research and budgets to help define those programs.
  • Brainstorms event component of program ideas with Integrated Marketing teams and provides budgets during the proposal phase
  • Works with PR to establish partnerships and celebrity/luminary presence that will increase the buzz factor
  • Related Work Experience: 8+ years
  • Range to include upscale/luxury event planning, celebrity/luminary event planning, conference/business event planning, retail, technology themed or focused events a plus.
  • Epic attention to detail, quality, hospitality and experience
  • Must be entrepreneurial self-starter and collaborative team player
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact well with high-end clients, staff, and vendors.
  • Develop, maintain, and meet event budgets up to $1MM
  • Develop audience development goal, invite lists, and mailing to secure the audience targets.
  • Oversee creative development of event materials including collateral and environmental design, web, etc.
  • Great relationships with vendors in key markets (NY, SF, LA, Chicago, Las Vegas)
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends when necessary, and travel
  • Must thrive in fast-paced, exciting, creative environment
