VP Product Strategy & Development, Bravo

Job Description:

Bravo is seeking a VP of Product Strategy and Development to identify, evaluate and initiate new product opportunities in the digital media space. This role will focus on capitalizing on market trends to drive innovation and revenue across web, mobile, apps, gaming, social media, interactive TV, e-commerce, connected devices as well as how to integrate advertising, subscription or alternative methods for monetization. The VP should be a digital entrepreneur and a thought leader who loves the challenge of figuring out how to make innovation happen in a fast-paced changing word including help create product strategy, seek ways to monetize existing activities, expand revenue streams, and embody Bravos brand mission to be leaders of innovation on the digital frontier. As a senior team member this role will help make the strategic decisions regarding when and where to build products, partnering, licensing or using outside vendors. The ideal candidate is a collaborator who is both strategic and detail-oriented, with proven product development and management experience in a consumer-based, digital media company. The person must be comfortable working with technical, sales and management teams and is intimately familiar with the latest innovations and upcoming trends in the digital arena. The ideal person will be able to identify companies that would make a good fit to Bravos existing interactive strategy. The VP, Product Strategy & Development will:

  • Be at the forefront of industry knowledge in terms of the latest products and innovations and how they can integrate into Bravo Digital
  • Work with business leaders at Bravo Digital on the product strategy and roadmap across all platforms including web, mobile, apps, connected devices, interactive TV, e-commerce, social and yet-to-be-determined horizons
  • Recommend and evaluate new product opportunities for fit from audience, editorial, technology and business perspectives
  • Drive the relationship with outside partners/vendors from identification to final deal, working with business development, legal and the digital management team
  • Work with product managers, project managers and tech team on implementation (project requirements, product specifications, testing) and with the business side on sales or monetization plans
  • Identify key analytics and metrics for success and enact the system for tracking
  • Evaluate market trends and products, help advance existing products to the next iteration, while concurrently tracking Bravos overall product strategy
  • Report to the Executive Vice President, Bravo Digital Media

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 6-8 years of experience with proven track record in digital media product strategy and development
  • Up-to-date on the latest trends and innovations with extensive contacts in the startups and businesses in the digital media arena
  • Business development experience helpful
  • Masters in business or science desired but not required
  • Extensive technical knowledge, including a strong understanding of emerging technologies and how they are evolving
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans, which result in tactical implementation
  • Ability to create and execute against a product roadmap, from ideation to launch to retirement or reiteration
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with people at all levels at the company on product strategy and development from VP to developer to product manager
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and fluid environment
