VP, Human Resources - HR, Communications and Diversity




ROLE SUMMARY:


As VP, Human Resources the position will partner with the most senior leaders of the Human Resources, Communications and Diversity functions to design, develop and implement effective Human Resources strategies and tactics for those corporate staff employees. Position reports to SVP, HR for Broadcast, Content Distribution and Corporate staff functions.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Partner closely with the SVP Human Resources and the HR, Communications and Diversity leadership teams on implementing strategic HR initiatives across all organizations in a matrix environment
  • Lead a team of HR staff including a Program Manager, HR Coordinator, and six associates in the HR Leadership Development Program
  • Collaborate on a strategic level with operating leaders on a variety of Human Resource and business-related initiatives to support organization and operational goals
  • Lead and manage core HR processes, employee relations, organizational development, recruiting and staffing, performance management, and compensation planning for corporate staff employees
  • Collaborate with and advise P&L HR leaders on a variety of HR issues, including compensation, recruiting, talent management, and employee relations
  • Oversee talent development initiatives and programs across HR and Communications functions
  • Take the lead on resolving employee relations issues and provide coaching to department leaders
  • Design appropriate strategy and approach to ensure team provides timely, accurate and relevant interpretation
  • Work with department leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities
  • Act as an employee advocate while driving various corporate and division business initiatives
  • Create and execute on Employee Opinion Survey action plans and driving engagement and communications activities



BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 8 years professional experience in generalist HR or other relevant roles, with at least 5 years in HR team leadership roles

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Masters Degree in HR or MBA
  • Experience working in the film or media industry
  • Demonstrated ability to assess people, lead change and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead and partner with clients in a matrix environment
  • Strong employee-relations skill set; can earn trust and credibility with employees in assigned groups
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven influencer; demonstrated ability to coach and counsel both employees and executives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and to partner closely with business leaders
  • Significant experience in managing complex organizational issues
  • Proven track record of excellent follow-through and execution
  • Able to deal effectively with conflict and manage difficult employee relations situations
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data for employees, including peers in the HR function
