The Digital Marketing Associate will assist in the development and execution of strategic, multi-platform digital marketing campaigns for key titles, series, authors and community sites, working in partnership with Macmillan marketing staff at the publisher level. This person will work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to identify and generate new digital marketing opportunities to meet the goals and objectives of the publishers, identifying best practices and providing guidance along the way. The ability to effectively communicate with marketers at all levels is critical for success in this role, as is the importance of understanding how to incorporate acquisition marketing practices into otherwise traditional marketing campaigns.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work with Digital Marketing Manager to develop and execute multi-level marketing campaigns, incorporating and testing new marketing channels and tactics
  • Document and communicate best practices and recommendations
  • Track, report and analyze all campaign components, sharing findings with stakeholders and all publisher marketers

Required Skills / Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of various online marketing channels and tactics including social media, paid search, mobile, video, display advertising, email marketing, PR
  • Understanding of the social networking space and knowledge of social analytics
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEO tools
  • Basic familiarity with using web analytics systems (e.g. Webtrends, Google Analytics)
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Basic skills in Adobe Photoshop a plus
  • Basic skills in HTML and CSS a plus, but not required

Experience Needed:

  • 2-3 years in digital marketing
  • Social media marketing experience a plus
  • Some PR experience a plus

Educational Background Required:

  • College Graduate (Bachelor)
