Mr. Jason Rekulak
Full Time
Quirk Books has published some of the most original and innovative books of the last ten years--including oddball bestsellers like PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, and THE WORST-CASE SCENARIO SURVIVAL HANDBOOK. Now we'd like to apply our unique sensibility to children's books--but first we'll need a creative and talented editor to join our creative team. Our new children's program will cover a range of projects, from picture books to tween/YA fiction and nonfiction.

What You'll Do:
--Acquire, develop, and edit 8 books annually. Many titles on Quirk's list are conceived in-house and developed with freelance writers.
--Manage all projects from acquisition through publication.
--Participate in all aspects of packaging, marketing, production, and digital adaptation.
--Cultivate relationships with authors, artists, literary agents, and licensing agents.

What You'll Need:
--Ability to conceive projects independently or in conjunction with writers and/or artists.
--At least five years of experience with a commercial trade book publisher or literary agency.
--Excellent writing skills.
--Solid network of author/agent contacts.
--Comprehensive knowledge of publishing industry.

Please send resume, salary history, and a list of notable title acquisitions via email through Media Bistro. Or snail-mail to Human Resources c/o Quirk Books, 215 Church Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. NO PHONE CALLS, PLEASE.
