Position Description:
Palgrave Macmillan is currently seeking an experienced National Sales Representative. This position is based out of our New York office.

Major Responsibilities:
Sell in scholarly and professional titles to college retail accounts, including quarterly visits to B&N College
Manage all scholarly and professional special sales, author orders, and bulk buys
Sell scholarly and professional print titles to independent and specialty retail accounts
Call on New York independent and specialty accounts; there is potential for travel to other key markets in 2012
Forge new account relationships and identify special sales opportunities
Manage account outreach via the Edelweiss online catalog
Provide key accounts with timely information and pricing
Run and help with analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports
Work closely with the US marketing managers to identify opportunities and plan promotions
With marketing, spearhead key title campaigns and maintain a key title grid to monitor success
Maintain and enforce a sales schedule for sell-in to all print accounts
Monitor v-commerce functionality on the Palgrave website

Required Skills / Knowledge:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Superior organizational skills and follow through
An ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs

Experience Needed:
2+ years of publishing or sales experience

Educational Background Required:
College degree
