WNETs Sales and Global Content Distribution team group is looking for a leader to manage and develop its distribution strategy and program acquisition used for Pledge programming for THIRTEEN, WLIW21, NJTV and other nationally affiliated PBS stations.

Reporting to the Managing Director Of Sales and Global Content Distribution, the Director of Distribution Operations will develop, oversee and manage Pledge Enhancement Programming (PEP) as well as Presenting Station Opportunities across the PBS/APT distribution channels. Working in collaboration with Finance, Legal, Programming and Station Relations, additional responsibilities include:
Search and recommend program acquisitions used in Pledge weeks for both 13/21/NJTV and other national affiliated PBS stations; work with the programming dept. and Station relations for PEP clearances.
Develop and direct opportunities and generate revenue in the Presenting Station arena.
Supervise contract process with Legal, station servicing, follow-up and accounting for PEP revenues, P&L and ROI.
Supervise staff of three direct reports whose primary duties include merchandising (eg Shop 13), inventory control, footage sales and technical trafficking.
To qualify, candidates must have a BA/BS or equivalent work experience and extensive experience in programming distribution. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to negotiate complex program license agreements and knowledge of how legal, programming and station relations functions work together. The ability to manage people and create a successful team will be necessary as well as the ability to work well under pressure. Candidates with a demonstrated record of revenue generation and intimate knowledge of the PBS station program clearance system are preferred. Knowledge of international media markets preferred.
