The Publishing Product Manager is responsible for all aspects of title information on behalf of the publishers office to Marketing and Sales from title acquisition data to inventory management to support materials coordination. This position plays a central role in understanding and executing publishing goals, collaborating with key shareholders and facilitating overall operations.

The ideal candidate has very strong organizational skills, the creativity to effectively problem-solve and the ability to collaborate with nearly all departments in the publishing process.

The specific job responsibilities are:
-Manage publishing schedules for the NY and London offices including key due dates for required information and materials.
-Coordinate critical support material such as, advance copies, product information sheets, etc.
-Communicate and maintain orderly procedures between Bloomsburys NY and London offices and our distributor Macmillan.
-Responsible for managing metadata for in-house and distributor database systems.
-Analyze and maintain inventory with an eye toward greater efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
-Regular contact with sales management to provide product support with samples and data in prepublication stage.
-Assists in a wide range of marketing activities from catalogs to email marketing to multimedia promotion to conference promotion with duties including copywriting and design in print and digital.

-A background in publishing, 3 years of industry experience, and expertise in the specialty and academic market is a plus.
-You'll need to be organized in a job that's high on details, creative in an industry that demands top-notch presentations and strong brand identity and flexible in a business that requires a total teamwork and a pitch-in attitude.
-Technical ability in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel and some background in working with databases is essential. InDesign and Photoshop ability is a plus.
