Rodale Direct Response Books is seeking a health book editor with 4-7 years experience to create and acquire strong, marketable, content-rich titles for the direct book audience. The health book editor will work closely with the editorial, research, marketing, and creative groups to maximize the success of these titles. An ability to handle multiple deadlines and switch gears quickly from topic to topic is a must. This position will be located in our Emmaus, PA location.

Additional responsibilities include:
-Research and develop book ideas independently
-Manage books through production process from concept to final book
-Assemble teams of writers, health professionals and experts to contribute to books
-Supervise freelance contributors
-Interpret latest research on health and wellness and rewrite for consumer

The ideal candidate will possess:
-Bachelor's degree plus 4-7 years of relevant experience
-A dynamic self-starter with strong entrepreneurial instincts
-Experience and ability to translate nutrition, health, and weight loss research
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must. Extreme attention to detail
-Experience writing and/or editing health, wellness, or fitness content a plus
-Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
-Ability to respond quickly to editorial and business needs and to drive multiple projects to completion on deadline
-Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work well in a group environment
-Experience creating direct mail books a plus
-Author and agent contacts a plus
-Experience with Microsoft Word a must
