Conde Nast is seeking a Director of Communications to join the Corporate Communications team.  The position reports to the Vice President of Communications & Digital Strategy.  The Director of Communications will work to promote growth divisions and initiatives including the Conde Nast Media Group, Ideactive, Consumer Marketing, Editorial Development Group and Licensing, among others and will contribute to the development and execution of the company’s social media footprint and strategy as well as provide sound counsel to senior executives with strong interpersonal finesse and sound judgment.  The ideal candidate will craft relevant, engaging pitches around individuals, projects or initiatives and deliver appropriate coverage that expands and enhances corporate messaging.  




  • 5-10 years relevant work experience
  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree
  • Detail oriented and creative
  • Big picture thinker who can also drill down when necessary
  • Diverse background in both trade and consumer media
  • Solid high level contacts with publishing, digital and advertising/media writers
  • Fluent in all press activities including red carpets, press briefings, speaking conferences, Q&A
  • Expert problem-solving skills and adept at handling crisis communications
  • Excellent writing skills for developing messaging, bios, Q&A and press releases
  • Personal and professional use and understanding of major social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr among others
  • Thorough understanding of the digital landscape and how to elevate Conde Nast’s profile online
  • Able to quickly assess and advocate for opportunities
