Rodale is seeking an Executive Editor to work in our Books Editorial Department in our New York City location. This role will be responsible for working with Runners World and Bicycling magazines to develop and produce book projects as well as acquiring titles independently. Working relationships with major agents and a strong knowledge of the sports, fitness, and health categories are essential. We are seeking candidates that have experience working on heavily designed and produced books and are very deadline oriented.

Responsibilities include:
- Developing the publishing pipeline for branded and trade books - Stewarding books from concept to final printed product - Creating supporting marketing materials for each title - Helping to create 360-degree consumer marketing strategies to promote each title - Maintaining working relationships with writers and agents

The ideal candidate will have:
-6-8 years of publishing experience that demonstrates increasing editorial responsibility -Prior non-fiction book and acquisition experience required -Strong communication skills Experience in contract negotiations -Demonstrated interest in health and fitness -College degree
