Newsday, one of the nations largest daily newspapers, is looking for a Multimedia Producer for the Opinion Section.

The Opinion Section is responsible for editorials and commentary in our digital and print editions. The multi-media producer will work with a senior team of writers and editors to enhance the department's digital and visual content and manage user generated content.

Above all, the job demands a self-starter and strategic thinker who has superb organizational skills. The producer must have a strong interest in government, politics and public policy and a familiarity with the people and places of Long Island, New York City and the metro region.

Shooting and video editing skills as well as copy editing and headline writing skills are essentials. Reporting experience preferred.

The applicant must have proven proficiency in shooting and editing video; utilizing social media tools and experience with Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Hermes and Polopoly.
