Bloomsbury Publishing is seeking a creative, dynamic Director of Publicity to manage our adult publicity department. Must have excellent media contacts and relationships, as well as experience leading a department with budget responsibility. We are looking for someone with experience working with both literary fiction and nonfiction titles in both traditional and digital media spaces


Manage all areas of adult publicity for Bloomsbury
Act as chief representative and spokesperson to U.S. adult media
Set strategic publicity goals for each book on the adult list
Liaise with authors, editors, marketing, and sales staff on our publicity strategies and campaigns
Responsible for budget management
Manage and mentor publicity staff
Work closely with marketing and editorial; attend regular meetings with each group to strategize and position each title
Direct publicity initiatives that broaden our reach and raise our profile in the marketplace
Seek new opportunities in different media platforms

Significant prior work experience in book publicity, booking top-line media, maintaining a budget and managing a staff
Excellent media contacts and relationships
Outstanding presentation skills
A proven ability to devise creative, innovative and effective campaigns
Experience working in the digital media space
Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
A college degree (BA or equivalent) and minimum 8-10 years prior experience
