JOB PURPOSE:Work closely with the VP/Creative Director/Senior Art Directors/Copy Director of POD on all projects in order to meet the department’s objectives and goalsProvide contemporary design support to E! and G4 by producing a high level of advertising and design across all mediums without sacrificing the strategies and goals set forth by the department and clientHave a unique and exciting design aesthetic with an attention to typography, composition and styleAble to manage a project from start to finish: from sketches, to directing a photo shoot, to the comp stage, to overseeing a retoucher, to collaborating with production.Able to take direction, work collaboratively and participate in internal brainstorming groups with other art directors and writersMaintain a thorough understanding of the creative and technical process, stay current with contemporary trends in typography, photography and design; and maintain expert knowledge of current softwareUnderstanding of the 4-color printing processImprove the quality of work and efficiency of the department by maintaining technical standards, troubleshooting, archiving and building an organizational system and process for creative workCommunicate effectively with all levels of the department and clients including preparing for presentationsWork closely with Project Managers/Directors in order to deliver projects on time and on budgetPrioritize workload and manage multiple projects efficiently
The Art Director, Print & Online Design will conceive, develop and design innovative creative materials for E! and G4 (domestic and International) including print and outdoor advertising, key art, marketing collateral material, brochures, logos, premiums, packaging, display graphics, and special projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 3 years experience at design firm, studio, network or advertising agencyEntertainment experience a mustDegree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Film or comparable portfolio and experience

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:3D knowledge, Illustration and sketching ability a plusDemonstrated ability to conceptualize and execute national/international advertising television or theatrical campaignsStrong MAC computer skills, including a thorough understanding of graphics applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, Cinema 4D and MIYA a plus)Ability to take on multiple projects and produce cutting-edge workAn original thinker with innate design sense and styleMust have a collaborative approach, the ability to work with others and to professionally represent the department at all timesMust be able to work a regular work week and willing to work some late nights and weekendsA passion for the entertainment industry a must
