Job Summary:

The Foreign Rights Assistant supports the Managing Director of the Foreign Rights Department. This position presents the opportunity to learn how books are sold and published overseas, and to gain an in-depth knowledge of international publishing.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

-Corresponding with clients and publishers via email and phone
-Tracking and organizing submission materials
-Managing payments, contracts, and tax forms
-Tracking submissions
-Generating expense reports
-Maintaining new projects log and anticipated money report to track payments
-Organizing trips to Frankfurt and London for the book fairs
-General administrative duties

*** Additional job responsibilities may be assigned


Requirements:

-Bachelors degree
-1-2 years of book publishing experience, preferably in foreign rights
-Excellent written and communication skills
-Superior organizational skills and very detail-oriented
-Extremely professional and articulate
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
-Knowledge of BAITS software a PLUS
