Internal Communications
-Manages all internal communications needs and projects for MetroPlus.
-Supervises internal communications calendar and ensures accurate, frequent, and appropriate communications via MetroMemo, Bulletin Board updates, Internal Newsletters, etc.
-Manages existing content and generates new content for the Department's internal portal as well as for the MetroPlus website, as needed.
-Provides support to appropriate individuals/departments for all their internal communications needs.
-Ensures consistent and coordinated execution of internal communications plan and initiatives by staying informed of organizational operations and mission (e.g., by reading and staying on top of health care news, internal news, and participating in organization events, and conducting own research);
-Works with Communications Director to assess the effectiveness of employee communications by determining goals, objectives and frequency of essential communications and maintaining a reputation of competence, integrity and professionalism.
-Responsible for drafting message content for internal audiences in a variety of formats including, but not limited to all-staff emails, internal newsletters, success stories, and MetroMemos.
-Assists Communications Department Team, COO and Presidents Office to improve and plan all-staff Town Hall meetings, disseminate agenda, gather questions beforehand and feedback afterwards, as needed.
-Partners with human resources, labor relations and provider relations and other units to fulfill their internal communications needs, managing a comprehensive internal communications plan across the organization.
-Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with other departments within the organization to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives, products, and services.
-Coordinates the production of all MetroPlus internal newsletters from conception to completion.
-Responsible for drafting, creating, designing, proofreading and editing all internal communications, including all internal newsletters.
-Responsible for updating the bulletin boards on a bi-weekly basis or more often when needed.
-Drafts, edits, proofreads and publishes Employee of the Month postings.
-Responsible for the overall editorial process involved in the bi-weekly issuance of the MetroMemo.
-Responsible for the daily distribution of news and relevant information to the appropriate MetroPlus staff.

Web Communication
-Responsible for appropriate intranet portal updates for the communications department
-Develops, implement, manage and evaluate a dynamic intranet pages, and drives employee usage of the intranet as the primary source of corporate information. Shift from e-mail and newsletters as primary information sources
-Performs front end coding (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript), when needed
-Responsible for digital production tasks including video encoding, in conjunction with editorial calendar and article publishing process
-Liaises, collaborates and coordinates with MIS on application support and updates, web analytics, troubleshooting, etc., as well as longer-term platform and application refreshes
-Understands and utilizes corporate templates and styles, and, under the direction of the Director of Communications, works with stakeholders such as the MIS and marketing department to align internal web properties with corporate branding and styles
-Supports ongoing and special Intranet projects (galleries, widgets, custom treatments, etc.)
-Maintains proactive relationship with MIS to understand emerging trends, platforms and programs that can be leveraged for internal communications purposes
-Researches and advocates relevant technology directions (social media, mobile apps, etc.) on behalf of the communications department
-Evaluates the usability of the Intranet, helps identify problems experienced by users and suggests possible improvements to build the Intranet into a more effective knowledge management tool
-Manages flow of information from all MetroPlus departments to the Intranet
-Assists Communications Department in identifying best practices in online communications.
-Assists with maintaining MetroPlus website, as needed
-Sources information for website updates and develops and edits new content to reflect the established voice for the site; developing new pages and updating current website, as needed
-Responsible for MetroPlus Facebook community portal, developing compelling content, responding to comments and designs creative ways to increase the reach of the community and MetroPlus overall social media activity
-Responsible for MetroPlus Twitter account, drafting attractive messages to drive membership, and finding creative ways to engage followers, supervising followers, retweets, and mentions.
-Participates in meetings, brainstorms sessions that help grow MetroPlus online presence from both an internal and external standpoint
-Creates and writes content for the web site: Collaborates with MIS staff to develop and maintain content current for the web site.
-Responsible for supervising website updates according with plan changes, regulatory requirements, etc., as needed
-Responsible for Increasing MetroPlus web traffic: Researches and implement strategies to build web traffic and generate repeat usage, and improve our overall SEO. And, uses MetroPlus social media sites to drive traffic to the MetroPlus website, generating leads, engaging current members, etc
-Continuously reviews web site content for relevance and timeliness: Identifies and updates out-of-date information
-Performs quality checks: Works with templates and ensures proper display and function of materials
-Continuously reviews web site to eliminate typos, broken links, functionality errors and poor interface
-Ensures legal, regulatory compliance regarding copyright laws, HIPAA, CMS and State regulations and member data/information protection
-Other tasks and projects, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
-BA or BS in relevant field
-Three or more years experience in a marketing or communications role is desired
-A minimum of five years experience, planning, writing, editing, researching and producing newsletters, press releases, annual reports, and other print publications in a communications department preferred
-Broad, up-to-date knowledge of communications trends and practices
-Computer literacy and experience with computerized information (Microsoft Office Suite), Dreamweaver, HTML, In-Design, CSS, Java Script
-Strong presentation and facilitation skills
-Experience in graphic design and/or printing
-Experience in intranet development and/or knowledge management systems
-This intellectually challenging position requires a professional who is able to listen critically and think and act creatively, strategically and nimbly
-The individual must have a successful track record translating strategic thinking into action plans and output
-The individual must be comfortable and interested in carrying out both strategic and tactical implementation activities
-The successful candidate should be a skillful and creative researcher and storyteller, with experience addressing different audiences across multiple medium and platforms
-A demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of constituents is a must
-The position requires extensive successful writing, editing, production and project management experience with a variety of print and online media (internally and externally focused)
-Should have excellent judgment and an innovative, pro-active problem solving orientation
-The individual should exhibit the ability and interest to develop and maintain collaborative, respectful, and honest relationships
-Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interact with leadership, staff and a Board of Directors
