The Associate Web Developer is responsible for helping to advance all of News 12 Interactives platforms. This includes: Building infrastructure, improving existing feeds and navigation and expanding with new applications and other Applications (Apps). New technologies. Assist in the development, prototyping and initial production of new content driven sites with new navigation and processes. Assist in the delivery of a quality product in a timely and efficient manner and perform multiple functions, including but not limited to: coding, incorporating text and graphics and performing other related production tasks, perform day-to-day site maintenance, reporting and backend processes. Compile data and prepare reports and documents of substantial complexity in a proficient manner while verifying accuracy. Will also work with Management and developers to assist in defining, organizing and architecting timely, accurate and valuable sites and interactive applications. Perform QA tasks on all technical processes and procedures of News 12 Interactive. Assure the execution of all daily scripts, ftp processes and reporting mechanisms . Work with internal business units to provide communications and status updates on various projects and initiatives. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years experience in solid and varied programming skills (JSP, Java and Java Script). Must have a strong understanding of CSS and XML and be conversant with HTML5. Extensive knowledge of web publishing and video encoding. Working knowledge of Social Media platforms and their integration. Must be able to assume responsibility for complex systems and processes and have the ability to coordinate internal and external technical specialists to achieve demanding goals and work with outside non-technical clients to provide customer support, training and documentation. Must have demonstrated skill in developing and deploying complex custom publishing software and custom content management applications. BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent training and work experience preferred. Ability to work any assigned shift, including nights, weekends and holidays.
