Your tasks
The Editor is responsible for increasing company profitability via acquisitions that are consistent with the company's reputation as a high quality, first to market publisher. Involves extensive author contact, proposal review, contract negotiation and long range planning for growth and the development of the program. Requires someone who is innovative, and can come up with creative solutions for acquiring and managing the portfolio. Specific responsibilities include:


-Pursues an active and efficient acquisitions policy through correspondence, meetings/trips, telephone, consultations with advisors, etc. Approximately 20% 30% travel required as well as strong initiative and independent functioning.
-Prepares and executes publishing contracts.
-Maintains and develops a circle of reviewers and advisors and evaluates their judgments.
-Maintains continuous cooperation and dialogue with marketing, promotion and operations concerning individual projects as well as general questions of mutual interest.
-Discusses, assumes and proposes financial and budgetary plans for program. Ensures that financial reports, status reports, budget forecasts, etc., can be made on the basis of readily available material.
-Develops guidelines, plans, reporting systems, etc., to implement publishing plans.
- Maintains current status of all projects in the program. Ensures timely preparation of manuscripts in form suitable for production.
-Reviews and discusses new projects and plans with editorial colleagues particularly in overlapping areas.
-Performs related duties as required.

Our requirements
oBachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred)
oTwo years' experience in publishing (editorial acquisitions required)
oExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required
oMust be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally
