The Penguin Press is currently seeking a Publicity Manager to help execute publicity campaigns for their amazing roster of authors. Notable Penguin Press authors include Michael Pollan, Ron Chernow, Henry Kissinger, Steve Coll, Maira Kalman, Niall Ferguson, Zadie Smith, Liaquat Ahamed, Frank Rich, Amy Chua, Daniel Yergin, Sapphire, Thomas E. Ricks, Roger Lowenstein, Alexandra Fuller, Tony Judt, John Berendt, Ken Auletta, and Clay Shirky, among others.

The Publicity Manager:
1. Secures national and regional media in major tour markets.
2. Develops and maintains relationships with producers, editors, and book reviewers.
3. Discovers new media outlets to build on media contacts including traditional and digital media.
4. Coordinates and implements all aspects of national and regional author tours.
5. Creates press materials (i.e. press releases, pitch letters, author Q&As, and story ideas).
6. Presents Penguin Press list to broadcast, print, and online media outlets.
7. Creates public awareness of the imprint.

- Minimum 4 years prior publicity experience, working in serious non-fiction and fiction
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Publicity Assistant, and Cision MediaSource (Bacons)
- Familiarity with online publicity and marketing
