As our social media strategist, you will do the following:

Be a member of Quirkys Community team, reporting to Quirkys Head of Community.
Be held accountable for maintaining a steady flow of information to a global community of creative people.
Be a part of something very, very big.

You can write really well.
You not only write well, but you are obsessed with writing. You love nothing more than to share words with the world.
You are ridiculously curious. You're the person at the cocktail party who actually wants to know all about what the insurance adjuster you just met does for a living. Because you're interested in everything.
Your skills are equally distributed across social media platforms: blogging, twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and ones nobody has heard of yet - But you know them.
You write equally well in long (multi-part blog narratives, documentation) and short (tweets, haiku) forms.
You were the social media guru among your friends who was using twitter way before they had heard of it.
You appreciate consumer products, design and inventing.
You can identify interesting and relevant articles, books, speeches, conferences, movies, etc, on related topics to share with our community.

Responsibilities:

Multiple daily blog posts, tweets, Facebook status updates, and other information sharing.
Maintain the health and integrity of the FAQs, help pages, and other prone-to-get-stale corners of our webspace.
Learn everything there is to learn about Quirky's operation, talk to everyone, and share it all.
Work with Quirkys community ambassadors, invention ambassadors, customer service team, and PR teams to assemble and publish critical information.
Work especially closely with Quirkys PR team to share noteworthy media mentions that the community would love to hear about.
Stay on top of the latest in social media platforms so Quirky is always out front in its use of communications tools.

Qualifications:

3+ years of communications experience, for example as an online journalist or social media professional.
Background in communications, psychology, marketing, or technology.
College degree or really great dropout story.
Unrelenting intellectual curiosity and pride in doing awesome work.
An entrepreneurial spirit.
Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
Action and detail oriented.
Passion for what we are building at Quirky.
