Rodale is seeking a Publicist to join Prevention magazines fast-paced public relations department. This position will report to Preventions Assistant Director of Communications and will be based in New York City. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, passionate self-starter with prior magazine publicity experience and a proven track record of top-tier print and television placements who can juggle multiple projects at a time.


- Handle day-to-day activities of the PR department and support the Assistant Director of Communications in all aspects of the brands business, including editorial initiatives, ad sales, monthly issue outreach, marketing events, special projects, partnerships, and published surveys and reports - Strategize and generate consumer and trade news placements - Coordinate TV segments and print interviews including creation of talking points, spokesperson preparation, securing props as needed - Oversee and manage department logistics for maximum efficiencymailing list creation and maintenance, monthly mailings, project wrap-up reports, booking guest travel


- Must be an excellent writer and communicator, have the ability to juggle and coordinate multiple projects and tasks, detailed oriented as well as creative, tenacious and passionate. - 2-3 years of experience in public relations/communications, with previous magazine experience strongly preferred - Proven track record of securing feature placements with television and print
