The PR & Events Manager plans and implements effective PR campaigns for all BBC WWA businesses with particular responsibility for BBC America. This will include profile-raising events, award campaigns, public affairs campaigns and outreach. The role also includes staff and mid-size events management, as well as internal and corporate communications. Organizes events, program screenings, press conferences for BBCA and other BBCWWA businesses, working to the Director Events. Constructs and executes the awards strategy across the company with particular emphasis on BBC AMERICA. This includes award entries, relationships, trade advertising/promotion. Promotes BBC America and other BBC Worldwide America businesses through relationships with industry organizations such as GLAAD, NAMIC, ATAS, BAFTA etc. Writes and coordinate internal and corporate communications, staff get togethers and activities, intranet postings, etc. Develops, and in some instances establish, excellent trade/industry organization contacts across all BBC WA businesses eg. Television Academy, HFPA, NAMIC, etc. Coordinates logistics surrounding the twice yearly TCA press conference - including a/v, dcor, etc, rundown, hotel liaison, etc. Creates trade press materials including writing press releases, photo coordination, etc. This should be done, sometimes at short notice, with flair, accuracy and speed. Liaises with agents and manage talent in connection with promotional activities. Oversees and direct BBCA viewer relations on a day to day basis.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey information succinctly and effectively in writing and in person. Strong experience in events and logistics ideally with a television background. Excellent organization and time management. Ability to work independently and strategically and manage corporate profile and messages. Event and talent management skills. Ability to work effectively within a team and pro-actively contribute to overall goals. Ability to deal with all levels effectively and politely e.g. business heads, talent, co-workers, general public.
