Greenleaf Book Group is seeking an experienced developmental book editor. Ideal candidates have solid credits with major trade or independent publishers in nonfiction, business, and self help genres. The developmental editor performs high-level concept work, heavy structural editing, and line editing while preserving the author's intention and voice. He or she is versed in nonfiction genre trends and takes ownership of the manuscript from concept to press, providing editorial direction and education for our authors.
Proven ability to meet or exceed deadlines
Extensive knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style
Ability to work with authors in a collaborative manner
Ability to work independently on book projects
Ability to contribute to the overall direction and processes of the editorial department
Bachelors degree
Strong computer skills (both Mac and PC); proficiency with MS Office applications a must
Minimum of five years book publishing experience
