The Graphic Design Director for EPIX oversees the day-to-day creation and production of the overall graphic and print look of EPIX. The position includes direct oversight of the Graphic Design Group, a sub-group of Creative Services, that creates the motion graphics, print and design creative for on-air & off-channel promotion, digital, advertising, show packages, press materials, marketing campaigns, etc. The Graphic Design Director reports to the VP/Exec Creative Director.

• Strategize and conceptualize with EPIX Creative management, both internal and external creative teams, peer and client groups to define ongoing design vision and art direction for EPIX. Present design concepts to senior leadership.
• Manage the design team including collaborating, leading and following up on creative concept development throughout a design and print project’s lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain the highest design standards and cohesiveness throughout the EPIX portfolio of entertainment platforms and associated promotional and marketing materials. Manages art and design production requirements for all ongoing initiatives.
• Initiate and manage effective design brainstorming meetings. Coordinates with creative teams, producers, clients, and operations, etc. to develop the art direction of a project taking into account brand strategy, creative execution, client needs, budget and timeline restrictions, etc.
• Help to guide and develop the careers of those on the design and print team to build a top-notch team, ensuring consistent high visual quality and timely delivery of work.
• Keep up with current trends and best practices in motion design, print, digital, etc. with clear ability to communicate the visual vocabulary of those trends throughout the team and inspire innovation.

• Demonstrated stellar creative with a deep understanding of all aspects of broadcast motion graphics, print, digital design and production as well as a proven expertise in television branding and entertainment marketing.
• 7+ years experience managing, leading and building a strong and successful design department for a high profile entertainment network, motion design production house or equivalent agency experience.
• Proven leader with strong management skills who inspires to innovation and visual execution at the highest quality level with an in-depth knowledge of design creative processes and project life cycles.
• A creative, conceptual, analytical and strategic thinker who executes vision impeccably with a proven ability to define high quality visual consistency standards across multiple platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of graphic and motion design software (i.e. After Effects, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, Cinema 4D, etc.)
• A collaborative team player who has experience working effectively in a cross-functional team.
• Great attention to detail and ability to manage complex fast-paced workloads and multiple deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree
