Food Network is seeking a stellar sr. interactive visual designer (mobile) to join our Product Design team.

What we are looking for-

Your work:

--Your digital portfolio displays a visually stunning array of mobile and interactive-related work with a solid grasp of branding, typography, color, grid, scale, balance and hierarchy. Your visual design displays a user-centered approach with deep understanding of information architecture, interaction and usability best practices.

Showing finished work is essential, but process examples and design-related personal activities will help convey the big-picture-of-you.

--You think beyond static comps and know when to push motion when it makes sense. Your ability to demonstrate motion graphics via storyboarding techniques and built prototypes bumps you to the front of the candidate line.

-- Your work shows that you have worked with editors, writers, product leads etc. to fine-tune the design’s tone and voice in support of the content. You know visual design is communication, no matter the format, and you utilize every opportunity to convey an on-brand, cohesive message (lorem ipsum is not one of your preferred tools).



Skills:

--You have led conceptual explorations and effective presentations for large teams; set design direction and implemented it, all the way through completion.

--You know the GUI guidelines inside out, delivery formats and ever-changing mobile standards and can effectively communicate them to a technical and non-technical audience. You are highly aware of industry trends and are capable of discerning what is best to apply.

--You have initiated and carried projects on your own, but thrive in team work. You are expected to lead and mentor junior designers and do this with a positive attitude and great sense of humor.

--You deliver tight, pixel perfect designs but understand that you are in an iterative process and work closely with IxDs and developers to evolve deliverables.


Must-haves:

--Bachelor’s degree or higher in digital visual design or related field
--Minimum 1-2 years of published mobile design work and 5-8 years of interactive visual design, working for high profile brands
--Strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (CS6).
--Highly versed in Flash and Keynote as used for presentations and prototyping. AfterEffects a plus.
--Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
--Experience designing for lifestyle, fashion and entertainment brands. Food a plus.
--Excellent written and verbal communication skills
--Own an iPhone. Ipad a plus.


Desired:

--Working knowledge of responsive design and media query techniques
--Awareness of tablet publishing tools and techniques, including InDesign and Adobe DPS
--Experience working for TV networks
--A love for cooking and a genuine interest in our shows and chefs
