Determine creative direction:

- Establish and manage the creative direction for multiple campaign/projects from concept through completion.
- Leads the creative design effort with the appropriate internal teams for design with appropriate internal teams for client pitches and presentations to new and existing clientele.
- Lead creative brainstorming sessions for project kick-offs.
- Provide quality control over concepts and projects.
- Conduct competitive research of other publications in the same category.
- Interacts directly with clients, as appropriate, to understand their needs.
-Minimum of 5 years art-directing experience and strong eye for quality visuals.

Design for each print issue:

- Layout all pages of magazine.
- Apply color specs.
- Convert photos to appropriate formats.
- Perform all Photoshop retouching and/or manipulate photography/images as needed.
- Work with managing editor to develop map as needed.
- Update and/or create listings.
- Review the creation of all advertorials to ensure design consistency.
- Work with production on proofing and signoff flow.
- Place images, text, and generate printouts for proofing.
- Create advertiser ads when needed.
- Preflight files and prepare high-res PDF’s for upload.

Design support for Marketing Department:

- Design media kits, promotional materials, and marketing collateral in collaboration with the Marketing Department and appropriate internal team members.
- Design marketing collateral for online distribution
- Design presentations materials and occasionally present new ideas to potential clients in collaboration with the Marketing Department.

Digital projects support:

- Ensure that all websites maintain design consistencies.
- Collaborate with appropriate team members to develop designs for new digital projects.
- Help with the creation of digital projects elements when necessary.

General responsibilities:

- Must possess a thorough understanding of interactive communications and delivery systems and processes, and a strong working knowledge of experience design, brand development, and industry best practices.
- Must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment while adhering to tight deadlines.
- Must be extremely organized and detail oriented.

Qualifications include:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Web and Graphic Design experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in Adobe Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver)
- Proficiency in HTML5.
