•Collaborate with editorial team to create engaging multimedia content for news articles, information graphics, editorial projects and social media
•Provide content support for breaking news; Research, write and post three news items daily; Post news on social media using Engage 121 software
•Develop rich content through curation and optimization; Engage audiences across multiple social networks and differentiate content depending on platform; Enhance SEO, open rates and clicks through choice of headlines and subject matter
•Post news and links to articles on LinkedIn
•Monitor web and social media stats on a weekly basis and report gains/losses
•Work to increase open rates and click rates on e-news within eight months of hire
•Work to increase social media members within the first six months of hire
•Monitor daily postings on social media outlets; report abuse to manager
•Manage and create online photo galleries monthly from plant tours and other articles/events
•Populate and manage E-Learning center with videos from past conferences; add new videos after each event; post videos on social media
•Manage editorial production and posting of twice monthly e-newsletter
•Prepare monthly issue posting instructions and check postings
•Write People and Industry News section print edition (monthly) and e-news (two times per month)
•Occasional trade show travel to create videos, newscasts and podcasts; create postings on social media
•Moderate webinars

Requirements for Digital/Online Editor Position
Candidate must possess two years of experience in web-based publishing and a multimedia news content (digital, print) creation environment, including two or more years of experience in HTML, SEO and content management systems, and expertise in social media engagement. Candidate must have:

•Knowledge of new media techniques and follow technology advances
•Demonstrated data-driven judgment with promoting and featuring site content based on engagement, social behavior and other traffic metrics
•Expertise using CMS, MS Office and Photoshop
•Excellent writing, researching, copyediting, proofreading, communications and public speaking skills
•Ability to multitask, perform under pressure and meet deadlines
•Bachelor’s degree; Journalism or Communications major preferred; food industry experience a plus.
