As a Strategic Planner in our Planning team, you’ll join a small group of seasoned planning media professionals who are passionate about building media plans that always hit their mark. Working with some of the biggest names in entertainment, such as FX, Food Network, FOX, Cooking Channel and CBS College Sports to name a few, you’ll successfully negotiate and manage client plans composed of all media that effectively correlate with clients’ goals and objectives. All the while managing and -mentoring coordinator personnel in planning department. This position also acts as a liaison between other media departments.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

-Devises strategies for media plans and oversees all planning and buying activities
-Creates and presents strategic media recommendations to internal staff
-Explores and maintains research, innovations and changes that affect media / planning and buying
-Constantly interact with other media departments to ensure smooth work flow and delivery to client
-Responsible for creating media specific documents such as flowcharts, MPAs, acquisition charts, etc.
-Remain informed and involved in all major aspects of clients’ objectives and strategies
-Negotiates best price and media placement for clients, as well as negotiate / resolve media discrepancies with vendors
-Lead the development and implementation of sound media plans based on up-to-date knowledge of market and consumer information
-Builds relationships with media representatives to maintain business partnerships, give account updates and briefings for industry trend
-Supervises and monitors media contracts with outside media vendors
-Maintains ownership of accounts with an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial spirit
-Manages positions on lower level (Planning Coordinator) while effectively ‘managing up’ to ensure communication and effective performance


-1-2 years of media buying / planning throughout multiple U.S. markets within an agency or client environment
-Strong command of media research resources (Strata Broadcast Systems) and capabilities
-Computer skills required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
-Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated client service skills
-Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail
-Ability to mentor junior staff and to train them in preparing, evaluating and implementing media plans and projects while continuing to inspire creativity and pro-activity from the media team(s)
