The VP, Communications for Fandango will co-report into the President, Fandango and the SVP of NBCUniversal Digital Communications. This person will develop and execute creative and strategic communications plans that position Fandango as a marketplace leader and authority in the movie space.


  • Work closely with Fandango leadership team to understand the business goals and effectively communicate them
  • Develop and execute a consumer press strategy to raise the spotlight on Fandango’s editorial content – including exclusive trailers, movie reviews, red carpets, awards coverage, moviegoer polls etc. This also includes:

  1. Securing a regular presence for a Fandango spokesperson on the various morning news and entertainment broadcast outlets – who will act as the authority on all movie news and what’s happening at the box office

  2. Ensuring that Fandango is regularly referenced and quoted as the authority on box office news

  • Develop and execute B-to-B press strategies to highlight Fandango’s business wins, including ad sales deals, distribution agreements, new product innovations and record-setting box office sales
  • Capitalize on PR opportunities and speaking engagements at key industry conferences, trade shows and film festivals
  • Oversee all aspects of internal communications to create a positive work culture at Fandango and keep employees informed about the state of the business
  • Press Relations: identify, establish, & maintain personal relationships w/ key contacts in the consumer & trade press. Manage press crisis/conflict situations
  • Develop high quality, creative, and well written material for distribution to media
  • Ensure that executives are well prepped and media trained for all press interviews and public speaking engagements
  • Work closely with SVP of Digital Communications to ensure Fandango fits into the broader NBCU message
  • Oversee Press Relations: Help maintain personal relationships w/ key contacts in the consumer & trade press. Manage press crisis/conflict situations


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Communications and/or Publicity in the media/entertainment industry
  • Must have digital experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Must have proven track-record of creating buzz and maximizing press opportunities


  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
  • Must be willing to work in Los Angeles, California


  • Strong executive presence, especially when dealing with NBCU senior leadership teams
  • Strong writing, interpersonal, pitching and presentation skills
  • Intellect and flexibility to work in a highly fast paced, demanding environment with tight deadlines
  • Pro-active, multi-tasker who has proven ability in launching new and creative PR strategies
  • Possess a passion for digital media, and media/entertainment
  • Be able to act as relationship builder both internally and externally
  • A creative mind with the ability to think “big.”
  • Forward thinker who is able to present, develop & guide projects through to closure
  • Excellent sense for competitive markets
  • Strong media contacts in the entertainment/digital/ space
  • Exhibit sophistication and skills necessary to establish and maintain a high level of credibility
