Designer, English Language Teaching Deparment
Oxford University Press is currently seeking a Designer to join our creative team within the ELT (English Language Teaching) Division. This position requires a forward-thinking, innovative, creative individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant design experience with the proven ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team atmosphere, as well as independently.The ideal candidate will have some experience creating products for digital platforms, e-books and apps.The core requirement for this position is the ability to design and produce books and other products for the educational market, (primary - Higher Ed) with a passion for typography and page composition. Experience in educational publishing and prototyping is desired.The successful candidate will possess a fresh approach to design, as well as strong production skills and attention to detail. The position is also responsible for reviewing and commenting on art, and photos. The successful candidate must have the ability to work on multiple projects, and manage their daily workload, according to production schedules. If you are a highly motivated, creative designer, this could be the job for you!Requirements:- 3-5 years as a Designer - please note that this is not a senior designer position- Proven ability to bring your design concepts, from original idea, to successfully executed final products.- Be able to clearly present and communicate your visual solutions to internal and external publishing teams.- Solid typographic skills and a good sense of composition and color.- Proficient in pre-press and able to produce production ready files a must.- Ability to prioritize and manage day-to-day assignments.- Highly proficient in Macintosh platform: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (CS5) Comfortable in Microsoft Office software: Excel, and Word.
