The Communications Office at Central European University seeks a Video Program Manager to conduct its video/digital-media function. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the successful candidate will work closely with Communications Office colleagues and members of the CEU community to conceptualize and deliver video/digital-media productions that advance the University’s academic and administrative goals.

Duties and responsibilities:
•Script, shoot, edit, disseminate, and archive video/digital-media productions
•Help identify strategically important opportunities and create resulting productions
•Field video/digital-media requests and inquiries from the University community
•Help internal customers define their goals, messages, and audiences, and identify effective delivery strategies for reaching target audiences via web, social media, email, news media, etc.
•Anticipate and respond quickly to major news events, capitalizing on faculty expertise
•Shoot prominent lectures, identify key comments, and produce brief compilations
•Perform minor video-related tasks (digitizing tapes, etc.)
•Maintain video equipment
•Manage the University’s “video room” (https://www.ceu.hu/videos) and YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/ceuhungary)
•Supervise, mentor, and deploy one or two student video assistants
•Oversee Media Lab with six video-editing workstations that is open to faculty, students, and staff for individual or group projects; orient users to the hardware and software; provide occasional additional assistance

Qualifications, Required
•Relevant experience producing videos and managing video projects
•Proficiency in operating a Sony XDCAM
•Proficiency in Final Cut Pro
•Knowledge of video-editing workflows
•Good editorial judgment
•Proficiency in distributing video/digital-media products via various social-media platforms
•Knowledge of/interest in world events
•Ability to produce video/digital-media products that vary in subject matter, pace, tone, and purpose
•English fluency

Qualifications, Preferred
•Experience shooting live events
•Experience conducting interviews and arranging interview environments
•Experience creating and/or maintaining video archives and applying metadata
•Hiring and directing freelance talent, e.g., shooters, editors, composers, animators
•Proficiency in still photography
•Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop
•Previous position in communications or journalism




Compensation:
Commensurate with experience. However, we offer a competitive salary, as well as a dynamic and international academic environment.
The initial contract is for 2 years with a possibility of renewal
The University will not cover relocation expenses.
