KERO 23, Bakersfield's ABC affiliate, is seeking a Multi Media Journalist to gather, produce, and broadcast news stories.
This position requires a person who enjoys enterprising reporting and has excellent story telling ability - for both broadcast and digital.
This person will be agile enough to break news stories, front the top story, enterprise stories, develop sweeps pieces, do feature reports, etc.
Good live skills are a must.
Candidates must also be willing and able to shoot/edit their own stores using the latest in camera and editing equipment.
Previous Television News Reporting/Videojournalist experience preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting or Communications (or equivalent) required.
Must be a creative, aggressive broadcast journalist who is a self-starter in digging up news stories.
Must have "good" news sense and be capable of working in a time-sensitive, stressful environment.
In addition to those skills normally associated with a top journalist, this person must be an experienced, believable, and easy to understand broadcaster who can communicate successfully with the television audience.
