New York Media is seeking an Associate Marketing Manager/Audience Department to be responsible for the strategy, development and execution of email and digital consumer-facing marketing. Acting as a central point of contact for the Audience Development team, he/she will help increase the brand’s digital presence, identify partnership opportunities, ensure “best in-class” programs and strategies, as well as analyze the effectiveness of all related efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
* Grow newsletter subscribers and maximize all efforts to engage and retain consumers. Manage the day-to-day operational needs of maintaining files and ensuring sign-up and deployment efforts run smoothly. This includes the following:
-Survey competitive landscape and study prior New York Media results to identify best practices for acquisition and conversion of audience to newsletter registrants and magazine subscribers. Suggest and manage implementation of suitable tests for the NYMag.com properties.
-Thoroughly analyze current marketing efforts including all web/email promotions and conversion units/pages. Perform assessments regularly to ensure all findings influence subsequent promotions. Manage reporting suite for newsletter performance, social media, apps and keywords on a monthly basis and inform team of impact on traffic/conversions and make recommendations.
-Improve newsletter file tracking reports to better illustrate how file sizes are trending month-to-month to facilitate forecasting of future levels.
* Manage any technical work required for new initiatives to fix breakdowns in current systems related to web/email conversions. Proactively identify obstacles and push for resolutions.
* Execute all e-blast deployments for consumer marketing including newsletter sign-up promos, print subscription promos, surveys, house ads and 3rd party barter deals. Assist in email deployment for ad sales, editorial and other departments as needed. Manage email calendar.
* Manage the process of identifying the ideal email service provider for New York Media by reviewing RFP’s, making a recommendation, learning the tools and transitioning databases as needed. Assist in budgeting annual costs and tracking to actuals.
* Find and execute newsletter promotions to partner audiences via barter relationships.
* Play a key role in all social media marketing to grow followings and increase engagement on both the fan pages and with the social elements of the New York Media sites.
* Lead some external advertising initiatives in support of growing web products. This will include paid display advertising (including Social) and SEM in addition to numerous promotional swaps. Specific responsibilities include:
-Lead SEM efforts from set-up through campaign launches and ongoing management.
-Initiate discussions with suitable barter partners and negotiate fair advertising space exchanges where possible.
* Identify new digital innovations and keeping up to speed with relevant digital development. Sourcing consumer insights and researching online behavior to make informed targeting and campaign decisions. Stay current on email best practices surrounding performance, deliverability, mobile adoption, social media, etc. Explore online tools to assist in reporting.
* Other responsibilities include: cover the accounting needs for digital marketing, satisfy ad hoc reporting requests quickly, and test/troubleshoot any new web functionality.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
•2 years hands-on experience managing email campaigns and delivery. Clear demonstration of strong direct marketing instincts.
•Prior experience and expert knowledge of email deployment systems.
•Knowledge of web analytics (Omniture or Google Analytics) and social media tools (Facebook Insights, for example)
•The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of emerging media technologies with experience finding creative uses of those technologies.
•Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work atmosphere. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Entrepreneurially minded self-starter with an innate creativity who instinctively takes ownership of a project.
•Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
•Expertise with Office along with experience with some of the following: HTML, Photoshop, CSS, Dreamweaver.
