New York Daily News has an opening for a Photo Editor with a minimum of 2 years experience for website and print. This is a full-time position; however, it requires someone with a flexible schedule that could accommodate the needs of a fast-paced newsroom. The schedule may include rotations to nights and weekends.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of entertainment and celebrity news and must have experience with online photography in a newsroom environment, preferably for a daily.

Responsibilities include:
- Editing photos and creating slideshows
- Selecting and cropping photographs for multiple sections of with a strong focus on gossip and entertainment.
- Illustrate breaking news stories with speed and efficiency.
- Researching photos for upcoming feature packages and selecting photos to recommend to editors.
- Ensuring that the visual presentation for the New York Daily News is creative and visually compelling.

- A strong passion for journalism and photo storytelling
- Understanding of photo rights issues
- Familiarity with PC and Mac platforms
- Ability to research and track down photos, especially in breaking news situations that call for quick visual representation
- Skills and familiarity with online media, including proficiency in Photoshop, HTML, XML and other applications
- Great attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable with change and willing to adapt to the constant flow of news
- Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
- Bachelors degree in fine arts or a relevant area
