RT America seeks to hire a motivated television Producer who will play an integral role in the development and production of news segments. The candidate must have a strong interest in national and international news, trends and social issues. The producer is required to track unique and original stories and book guests to appear on the program to discuss those stories. Experience in producing segments, editing packages, field producing, and booking guests for live news programs is a plus. The ideal candidate must have excellent news judgment and strong organizational skills. A successful candidate will be an aggressive, self-starter who can interact with high profile talent and guests. The candidate must also be a leader and team player. Other requirements include great communication and research skills, creative and “out of the box” thinking, the ability to multi-task and a terrific “can do” attitude. The candidate must be passionate about national and international news, able to research topics, generate show ideas and aggressively pursue stories and angles not found on the mainstream news networks.

•Book dynamic and non-traditional TV guests for daily shows and look beyond think-tanks and traditional outlets to find unique guests with different opinions.
•Establish and maintain strong relationships with regular guests, while cultivating new high-profile contacts to serve as future guests.
•Work with fellow producers to decide story selection, placement, length, editorial treatment and overall presentation of shows and segments
•Responsible for researching stories and guest backgrounds
•Responsible for assigned editorial content during live and taped show segments
•Present unique story ideas and angles in daily editorial meeting
•Look for engaging and provocative video and photo content to be used in show segments.

•Strong grasp and knowledge of both domestic political dynamics, as well as international issues. Specifically, can place Kandahar on a map, define net neutrality, explain quantitative and tuned in to the latest on Wall Street, Main Street and Washington DC.
•Original thinker and a voracious consumer of news
•Not shy and not afraid to interact with high-profile individuals and refuses to back down when pursuing a story or a guest
•Database of political contacts preferred, or the ability to quickly build a strong network of potential guests to draw from
•Good organizational skills to maintain lists of contacts, ideas, events
•Ability to thrive under pressure and in a fast paced environment
•Multi-media savvy and rely on a wide assortment of traditional and non-traditional news sources for story and guest ideas
•Three to four years of experience working in TV preferred
