The Titling Associate must be a creative problem solver, possess analytical and editorial skills, and be able to interpret large sets of data. Experience with Microsoft Excel and CMS (content management systems) strongly preferred. Prior experience in web media strongly preferred. Creative and strategic thinkers with the ability to learn new skills quickly will thrive in this role.

Demand Media is based in Santa Monica, CA. The Titling Associate will report to the Supervisor, Title Selection.

Responsibilities:

-Assist Titling Team in community management of titling freelancers, audit titling workflow and quality control utilizing data sets and established guidelines, and generate reports on quality and throughput

-Draft titling editorial guidelines to support publishers utilizing Demand Studios

-Work extensively with content management systems and interactive tools, creating title work orders (or queries), posting community announcements, and other content production and community management duties

-Understand and implement SEO best practices to create valuable online content

-Collaborate closely with a high-energy team of dedicated editors, publishers, and freelancers to grow content and meet other common content goals

-Research and develop improvements and innovations to the process wherever possible

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, web media, communications, English or related fields or equivalent background

-Experience manipulating and analyzing data

-Experience managing online communities

-Experience with crowd-sourcing a plus

-Experience understanding a publisher’s editorial strategy and developing guidelines

-Efficiency, accuracy, strong organizational skills, dependability and a keen eye for detail

-Clear understanding of online publishing and the competitive media landscape

-Ability to successfully juggle several projects simultaneously while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

-Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and experience collaborating in a team environment

-Solid Microsoft Office skills

-Knowledge of Web analytics tools a plus
